In view of conserving the marine fishery resources, during fish breeding season, uniform fishing ban period for 61 days has been imposed every year.
East Coast - April 15th to June 14th
West Coast - June 01st to July 31st
An amount of Rs.8,000/- is being given to marine fishermen family as relief assistance during the fishing ban period.
a . The beneficiary should possess a valid family ration card / Smart card.
b. The labour of the mechanized fishing boat should produce employee certificate from the boat owner.
c. Should be involved in full time fishing profession.
d. Fishermen / Fishermen family members having regular employment or indulging in any other income - generating activity shall not qualify under this scheme
e. The beneficiary should be a member of Fishermen Co-operative Society
