70% subsidy assistance subject to a maximum of Rs.56.00 lakh/unit in the total unit cost of Rs.80 lakh is being provided for construction of new Tuna long liner cum gill netter boats under diversification of trawl fishing boats from Palk Bay into Deep sea fishing
a. Beneficiary should be an owner and belongs to Palk bay district. (a group consists maximum of six fishermen) /Fisheries Cooperative Society/ Individual fishermen.
b. The beneficiary of Palk Bay district should furnish his willingness to diversify his trawl fishing boats into deep sea fishing boat.
c. The trawler for replacement should have valid registration certificate and fishing licence.
d. Applicant should have a fishermen Bio metric identity card issued by Department of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare.
e. Should be a member of Fishermen Co-operative society.
f. Priority will be given to the fishermen whose boats were apprehended / detained by the Srilankan Navy and subsequently released or beyond salvage.
1. Duly filled in application form (Format I).
2. Three copies of recent passport size colour photo of applicant in addition to the photograph affixed in the application.
3. Original copy of Design with drawings of the fishing boat which is proposed to be constructed under this scheme (Duly certified by qualified/ authorized Naval Architect).
4. Copy of Biometric Fishermen Identity card
5. Copy of the Family Ration Card.
6. Copy of Fishermen Cooperative Society membership.
7. Copy of Aadhaar card.
8. Photocopy of the bank pass book (The bank account in which the subsidy amount has to be credited).
9. In principle approval letter given by the bank for providing loan (if applicable).
10. Consent letter for scraping the boat or to sell the existing trawler beyond Palk bay region.
11. Copy of partnership deed executed among the group should be furnished.
12. Copy of valid registration certificate and fishing license of the existing trawler.
