Under Group Accident Insurance Scheme an amount of Rs. 5.00 lakh is provided to the legal heir towards accidental death/missing fishermen, Rs.2.50 lakh for Permanent and partial disability and Rs.25,000/- towards Hospilitaztion expenses. Total premium paid per fisher by the Central and State government is Rs. 79.96 /- and there is no beneficiary contribution in it.
1. Marine / Inland Fishermen/Fisherwomen should be enrolled in the Fishermen/Fisherwomen co-operative society and Tamil Nadu Fishermen Welfare Board. (Should be within the age of 18 to 70 Years)
2. Should be actively engaged in full time fishing activities/fisheries allied activities.
3. The Scheme is applicable for the Inland fishermen / fisherwomen who is having membership in Tamil Nadu Fishermen Welfare Board.
