Rendering support to the officers of the Fisheries Department for effectively enforcing the Tamil Nadu Marine Fishing Regulation Act-1983 along the coast of Tamil Nadu
Conducting patrolling in the sea along with Fisheries Department staff and assisting them in enforcing the regulations of fishing and to prevent illegal fishing, destructive fishing and the use of banned fishing nets.
If any prohibited fishing activities like Purse seine, Pair trawling are found which are photographed.
Rendering support in implementation of the provisions of Tamil Nadu Marine Fishing Regulation Act during the fishing ban period.
Rendering support in order to maintain law and order situation to Fisheries staff, Coastal Security Group (CSG) and to the local police.
Communicating the weather warning alerts to the fishermen.
Creating awareness among the fishermen regarding the security related alerts received from the State and Central Coastal Security agencies.
Conveying the information about the anti-social activities and intelligence gathered to the Coast Guard and Local Police authorities and other Law enforcing agencies for further necessary action.
Providing necessary support to the Authorized officers for the registration process and inspection of fishing vessels.
Rescue operations at the time of Flood.
Providing necessary support to the Fisheries officials at the time of visit of important dignitaries and state level conferences and meetings.
Creating awarness related to crossing of International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
Participation in Fishermen Grievance Day meeting conducted at District collector.
Inspectors/Sub-Inspectors of Marine Enforcement Wing Under Tamilnadu Marine Fishing Regulation Act (1983) are Authorized to Enter,Search, Seize any fishing vessel.
Joint Patrolling with Coastal Security Group, Forest Department and Indian Coast Guard during Turtle Breeding Season, Marine Fisheries Conservation Activities ,Coastal security and Rescue operations.
During fishermen missing, Searching operation will be carried out alongwith the local people.
