Revolving Fund has been created by the Government of Tamil Nadu to provide immediate relief assistance to the fishermen whose boats/ fishing implements/ houses are damaged due to unforeseen circumstances. An amount of Rs.10 lakh each to the 14 coastal Districts totalling (1.3 crores) was provided to the coastal District Collectors, which may be obtained when need arises.
a. Fishermen should be a member of Fishermen Co- operative Society/Tamil Nadu Fishermen Welfare Board
b. The applicant fishermen must be the owner of the fishing boat / fishing implements /house
c. The damaged fishing boat must be registered and should be involved in fishing activity
d. This scheme is not applicable to the fishing boats/fishing implements/houses damaged due to natural calamities
e. This scheme is only applicable to the fishing boats/fishing implements/houses damaged due to any separate unforeseen situations.
